A celebration marking the completion of renovations at the Residential Health Care Facility at Medina Memorial Hospital was held at the North Wing Solarium on April 9, 2015.
Fundraising by the Orleans Community Health Care Foundation was an integral part of the project that began in 2011. Renovations completed on the project included new sprinkler and HVAC systems, and nurses’ call systems.
State-of-the-art patient beds, patient armoires, bedroom and bathroom updates of new ceilings, energy efficient windows, lighting, painting, flooring, and sinks were also done.
A new dining and kitchen area with a buffet station was built along with an updated nurses’ station that will provide better monitoring of residents. In addition, a solarium was added to North Wing that allows residents to enjoy sunshine year round in a relaxing natural atmosphere.
